CEC chairman: Azerbaijan considers postponing parliamentary elections due to COP29

Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission, has said that according to the legislation, parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are expected to be held in November this year.

However, the dates may be postponed due to COP29, Report informs.

"Due to the fact that the terms of parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan coincide with the period of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change COP29, it may be decided to postpone the elections to an earlier date," Panahov said.
