China-Azerbaijan investment conference kicks off in Beijing
Chinese capital Beijing is hosting the China-Azerbaijan Industry and Investment Promotion Conference, a major event aimed at boosting industrial cooperation and attracting strategic investment between the two countries.
Organized with the support of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Azerbaijan’s Trade Representative Office in China, and the Center for International Cooperation under China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the conference is themed “Bridge of Development: Expanding Industrial and Investment Cooperation,” Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The event has brought together around 250 participants, including senior government officials, investors, and business leaders from both nations. It serves as a platform for fostering dialogue, building trust, and establishing long-term partnerships.
The primary focus of the conference is to showcase Azerbaijan’s favourable investment climate, present strategic projects across key sectors, and highlight the active role of Azerbaijani institutions in supporting foreign investors. Over 15 investment proposals were unveiled during the event, covering sectors such as heavy industry, mining, agriculture, light manufacturing, and renewable energy.
Chinese companies already active in Azerbaijan, as well as those considering future investments, are also sharing their experiences and plans, reflecting the growing interest in bilateral cooperation.
Officials noted that the initiative aligns with both countries’ broader economic goals and provides a framework for increased capital flows and sustainable industrial collaboration.
The conference agenda includes a series of presentations, networking opportunities, and the signing of cooperation agreements between Azerbaijani and Chinese institutions, paving the way for new joint ventures and project implementation.
