China's Xi invites his Turkmen colleague to China-Central Asia summit
Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow has received Chinese First Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu.
According to TASS, this was reported on May 14 in the official program of the Turkmen television Vatan.
Zhaoxu conveyed to Berdimuhamedow greetings on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping and an invitation to take part in the China-Central Asia summit. He said Beijing is looking forward to the participation of the head of Turkmenistan in this event. The Turkmen leader thanked the Chinese leadership for the invitation.
During the meeting, Berdimuhamedow and Zhaoxu discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, which has great potential for building mutually beneficial ties, taking into account modern realities. The sides noted that their countries are productively cooperating in the trade and economic sphere, the fuel and energy complex, and other sectors.
Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the city of Xi'an will host the China-Central Asia summit, which will be held on May 18-19. The forum will be hosted by the President of China. It is expected that the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will also take part in the event.
