Chinese firm to build solar panel factory in Azerbaijan's Alat FEZ PHOTO
Sichuan Sunsync Photovoltaic Technology, a Chinese company, will establish a solar panel manufacturing facility in the Alat Free Economic Zone (FEZ), Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The decision follows talks between an Azerbaijani delegation led by Vice Premier Shahin Mustafayev in Chengdu, China.
The investment agreement was signed by Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Alat FEZ Authority, and Se Yi, head of Sichuan Sunsync Photovoltaic Technology.
The company will construct three state-of-the-art production facilities on a 23-hectare industrial site. The plants will produce solar panels with an annual capacity of 3 GW, as well as silicon wafers and components. The panels will also be used for a solar power plant that the company plans to build in the Alat FEZ.
Most of the output will be exported to global markets, further solidifying Azerbaijan’s role as a strategic hub for renewable energy production.
