CIS security councils’ chiefs to gather in Russia for information security talks
The 12th annual meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is to be held in Moscow on November 7.
The meeting will be chaired by Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council (RSC), Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Shoigu will present a report on the international, regional, and national security situation, and provide an update on the work done to counter challenges and threats in the CIS space.
The meeting is to include the secretaries of the security councils from the CIS member states, as well as Sergei Lebedev, Secretary General of the CIS, Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Armenian Ambassador to Russia Gurgen Arsenyan, and Marcel Cenusa, a representative of the Party of Socialists of Moldova.
The agenda will focus on issues related to information security and cooperation with Afghanistan.
Additionally, the participants will discuss joint measures by CIS states to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War (World War II).
