"Concept for Return to West Azerbaijan" nearing completion, says official
Elaboration of the "Concept of Return to West Azerbaijan" is close to completion, said Aziz Alakbarli, the West Azerbaijan Community's board chairman.
He said the community received a large number of valuable proposals from the public, particularly from experts specializing in common international law, humanitarian law, human rights, post-conflict rehabilitation and reintegration, and refugee rights, Report informs.
According to the chairman, the proposals received had been analysed and systematised according to the main themes and a draft document had been prepared.
"The draft document is based on internationally recognised progressive approaches and principles in the field of repatriation and reflects the conceptual position of the Community on legal, practical, socio-economic and other aspects of the return process. The concept is based on international law, relevant domestic legislation, historical facts, and justice and will serve to establish peace," Alakbarli said.
He also added that after discussions take place among Community members, the board will finalise the draft document and submit it to the Supervisory Board for official approval in line with the procedure.
