COP29, European Investment Bank presidents discuss roles in climate finance

Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP-29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev has met with President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Nadia Calvino.

The sides met within the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action of the spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington, Report informs citing the COP29 message on X.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the role of the European Investment Bank and other banks in climate finance.

Former US Secretary of State John Kerry visited the Azerbaijani embassy in the US.

“President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev and the COP29 leadership team welcomed John Kerry to the Azerbaijani embassy in the US during the IMF Meetings to discuss the ambitious action we must undertake together this year to ensure a livable planet for years and generations to come,” according to the COP29 message on X.
