Czech Republic may cooperate with Azerbaijan’s Alat Free Economic Zone PHOTO
The Czech Republic can cooperate with Azerbaijan within the framework of the Alat free economic zone.
Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic, said at a meeting with the head of the Czech-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Jan Kubik, Report informs citing the Ministry of Economy.
The Deputy Minister noted that the mixed commission is a useful platform for strengthening trade and economic partnership.
The business conference organized in March of this year as part of the 5th meeting of the commission in Prague, and negotiations with the heads of Czech companies contributed to the development of a business dialogue.
It was noted that there are ample opportunities between the countries to expand cooperation in the investment, trade, industrial, innovation, transport and transit and tourism sectors. Along with this, cooperation with Czech companies is possible within the industrial zones operating in Azerbaijan.
On June 9, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening ceremony of the first stage of the Alat Free Economic Zone.
The Alat Free Economic Zone occupies a total area of 850 hectares. The construction work started on the 60-hectare area (Zone 1, Stage 1), which is the initial development stage of the Free Economic Zone.
The Business Center`s building, which covers a total area of 16,000 square meters, consists of three functional parts.
The foundation stone of the Alat Free Economic Zone was laid on July 1, 2021 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.
