D-8 leaders gather in Baku to tackle disinformation, boost media collaboration
Baku is set to host the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Media Forum on November 21, centering on the theme, “Fostering Dialogue, Collaboration, and Regional Cohesion,” the Media Development Agency (MEDİA) said.
Organized by MEDİA, the forum will convene leaders of relevant governmental bodies, executives from prominent media companies across D-8 member states, as well as senior officials and industry experts, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The agenda will focus on enhancing regional and international information exchange, strengthening media collaboration, establishing joint frameworks to counter disinformation, implementing digital media initiatives, and sharing best practices.
The program includes two high-level panel discussions: “Responsible Journalism and Digital Innovation” and “Strategic Communication and Crisis Management,” along with a specialized workshop titled “Media ethics in a Digitalizing World: Technologies, Trends, and Narratives.”
The forum is expected to host around 150 participants, including 71 representatives from the eight member countries and officials from the D-8 Secretariat, highlighting the organization’s commitment to fostering media cooperation and regional solidarity.
