Department head: Baku-Aghdam railroad to have about 10 million tons capacity

The head of the Construction Control Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Tural Abbasli has said that a direct railway from Baku to Aghdam will be opened.

He said the railroad from Baku to Yevlakh, from Yevlakh to Barda, and from Barda to Aghdam will be constructed, APA reports.

"The road will be single-lane and currently not electrified. The road will have a capacity of up to 10 million tons. With the exception of the Aghdam station, the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The construction of Aghdam station will be completed in January-February next year," Abbasli said.
