Azerbaijan, EU strengthen digital ties ahead of WTDC-25 in Baku
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Sameddin Asadov, met with the European Union Ambassador to Baku, Marijana Kovačević, to discuss cooperation in the digital sector and preparations for the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25).
According to Caliber.Az, the ministry reported that the meeting focused on key issues, including Azerbaijan’s efforts to strengthen global digital connectivity, preparations for WTDC-25, and the expansion of collaboration between Azerbaijan and the EU in digital and transport technologies.
Ambassador Kovačević praised Azerbaijan’s initiatives to advance global digital communication and support sustainable digital transformation, reaffirming the EU’s continued support for these efforts.
Deputy Minister Asadov highlighted Azerbaijan’s readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation with the EU in both the digital and transport sectors. He also stressed the importance of enriching the substance of this partnership within the framework of WTDC-25.
As previously reported, WTDC-25 (World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025) is scheduled to take place in Baku from November 17 to 28, 2025, bringing together global experts and policymakers to address key challenges in telecommunication development.
