Tourist arrivals from China to Azerbaijan surge nearly 50 percent—official

The number of Chinese tourists visiting Azerbaijan between January and October 2025 increased by 49% compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 57,000, said Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.

He made the announcement during the inaugural China Visitors Summit held in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Naghiyev highlighted that the significant growth reflects strengthening trust and deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and China.

He further noted that Azerbaijan’s active participation in international tourism exhibitions in China, coupled with presentations in major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, as well as targeted online marketing campaigns, has substantially enhanced the country’s visibility and competitiveness in the Chinese tourism market.

Organised by Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency, the China Visitors Summit brings together more than 50 Chinese travel companies alongside representatives of the local tourism industry.

The summit is regarded as a key platform for boosting tourist flows from China, particularly as both countries seek to expand economic and cultural engagement.

Azerbaijani and Chinese officials addressed the gathering, outlining opportunities for new partnerships and discussing ways to strengthen bilateral tourism links.
