Deputy FM: Azerbaijan helped strengthen capacity of more than 140 countries
Azerbaijan has delivered financial, technical, and capacity-building assistance to over 140 countries to date, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev stated.
Speaking at panel discussions during the 51st Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) held in Baku, Rafiyev noted that through its donor initiatives, Azerbaijan has supported 43 of 44 least developed countries, 53 of 54 African states, and 51 of 57 member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He stressed that sustainable development is most effectively achieved by enhancing local capacities, promoting knowledge exchange, and backing nationally driven development projects.
Rafiyev also pointed to expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan’s international development agency and IsDB.
"Our joint efforts are advancing in priority areas such as digital innovation, healthcare and vocational education, climate resilience, and humanitarian assistance, with particular focus on Africa, as well as Syria, Afghanistan, and other vulnerable countries. We hope that today's discussions will help strengthen this partnership and identify practical ways of cooperation that deliver sustainable impact on the ground," the deputy FM noted.
