Deputy minister: Azerbaijan plans to provide 80 per cent of state organisations with internet
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov has said that Azerbaijan plans to provide 80 per cent of state organisations with internet.
Mammadov made these remarks at the meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament’s Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising Committee, Report informs.
He noted that Azerbaijan will be fully provided with broadband internet by late 2024.
“Now the level reaches about 80 per cent. The matter rests in an average speed of 35 Mbit,” he said.
Azerbaijan ranked 117th among 182 countries in March 2024 in terms of average fixed broadband internet speed (with a speed of 38.32 MB/s), dropping two positions compared to the previous month which is 38 per cent more than a year earlier (27.84 MB/s). Azerbaijan ranked 56th among 148 countries in terms of mobile internet speed, rising three steps in March compared to February with a speed of 50.12 Mbit/s, according to Speedtest Global Index.
