Dutch companies seek involvement in Azerbaijani projects

Netherlands’ Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pauline Eisemann has said that Dutch companies are interested in participating in Azerbaijan’s projects related to agriculture, the creation of sustainable cities, and renewable energy.

"Although most Dutch companies are not present in Azerbaijan, there are business links and interest in cooperation is growing,” Report quotes her as saying.

She stressed that Dutch companies can provide many innovations for sustainable urban development.

According to the ambassador, ties between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands are at a high level: "However, there are many opportunities to expand these ties in all spheres.”

Eisemann touched on directions of activities of Netherlands' companies participating in the 16th Azerbaijan International Agro Exhibition (Caspian Agro) and the 28th Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition (InterFood Azerbaijan) which started in Baku on May 17.

"Some of them are exhibiting for the first time at this fair, and some participated in last year's fair. These include companies specialising in agriculture, offering sustainable water solutions aimed at saving and reusing water. Alongside this, there are companies operating in the field of animal health optimization,” Eisemann added.

The ambassador noted that three Dutch companies will participate in the Baku Energy Week from May 31 to June 3.

In 2022, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands approached $239 million, soaring by 46.7 per cent compared to 2021.
