Eastern European states threaten to restrict entry for Russians
Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia are ready to limit the issuance of visas for Russians at their own discretion until Europe makes a general decision.
These states require the European Commission to tighten the visa policy toward Russia, according to Financial Times.
Earlier, the European Union was reportedly going to suspend an agreement simplifying visa applications for Russians so that to make it harder for its citizens to travel to Europe. However, there is still no consensus in the European Union on the introduction of visa sanctions for citizens of Russia.
Germany and France do not want to introduce a complete ban on the issuance of visas for Russians, since this allegedly could unite the citizens of Russia around the authorities even more.
