Trump shares map renaming Strait of Hormuz as “Trump Strait”

US President Donald Trump has published an image showing a map in which the Strait of Hormuz is labelled the “Trump Strait.”

According to Caliber.Az, the US president shared the post on the social media platform Truth Social.

The image depicts a map of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, with the renamed “Trump Strait” positioned between them. Tankers are shown navigating the waterway on the map.

Earlier, Trump had seriously proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz after himself, but was rejected. In an interview with Fox Business, he expressed regret that the idea had not been supported. He clarified that the waterway could be referred to as the “Strait of Hormuz” or simply “Hormuz Strait,” but not as the “Trump Strait.”
