EBRD reps to visit Azerbaijan to discuss upcoming projects
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) representatives will visit Azerbaijan to discuss future projects on January 16-19.
Vice President for Policy and Partnerships Mark Bowman and Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone will initially visit Armenia, Georgia, then they will arrive in Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the EBRD.
The visit follows EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso’s recent tour to the Caucasus in September 2022.
The purpose of the trip is to discuss upcoming projects in both the private and public sectors.
The financial sustainability, policy reform and preparation for the bank's upcoming new country strategies will also be discussed as part of the agenda.
During the visit to Azerbaijan, the meetings will be held with the MPs, representatives of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the diplomatic community, international development partners and business clients of the EBRD.
Since the beginning of its activity in the Caucasus in 1992, the EBRD has invested more than 10 billion euros ($10.8 billion) in more than 650 projects in the region's financial, corporate, infrastructure and energy sectors, most of these investments were made by private companies.
