Egypt seeks deeper energy cooperation with Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Egypt’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Houssam-Eldine Reda has met to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits by heads of state and the agreements reached in developing Azerbaijan-Egypt bilateral relations, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
It was noted that Egypt is interested in large-scale energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. In this context, the signing of a framework agreement between SOCAR and EGPC, covering broad areas of cooperation, was highly appreciated.
The meeting also discussed opportunities for cooperation with Elsewedy Electric S.A.E. in the field of renewable energy. Prospects for joint projects were reviewed in the context of growing electricity demand and export opportunities linked to the expected expansion of data centers in Azerbaijan in the future.
In addition, the Egyptian side was invited to participate in events to be held as part of Baku Energy Week.
