EIB explores green energy partnership with Azerbaijan, says energy minister
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has affirmed keenness to partner with Azerbaijan in the field of green energy, the country’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.
In a post on social media platform X, Shahbazov shared that he had discussed potential collaboration with EIB Vice President Teresa Czerwińska, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Caliber.Az reports.

The two officials exchanged views on a range of national and international projects aimed at supporting Azerbaijan’s transition to green energy.
Shahbazov highlighted the assessment of investment opportunities with the EIB in key areas such as green energy corridors, energy networks, hydrogen energy, and energy efficiency.
“We held an exchange of views with Teresa Czerwińska, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), who is visiting Azerbaijan as part of COP29, on our country’s ongoing and planned national and international projects in green energy transition. We explored opportunities for investment cooperation with the Bank in areas such as green energy corridors, energy grids, hydrogen, and energy efficiency. The EIB has expressed interest in a GreenEnergy partnership with Azerbaijan,” the post by Minister Shahbazov reads.
