Eleven injured in Ukrainian drone assault on Russia's Udmurtia region
Eleven people were injured after drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a facility in Russia’s Udmurtia region overnight, according to local authorities.
The regional Health Ministry said in a statement published on its Telegram channel that medical teams were immediately dispatched to assist those affected after one of the republic’s sites came under attack.
“Tonight, one of the facilities in the republic was targeted. Medical workers immediately provided assistance to the injured,” the ministry said.
Three victims sustained injuries of varying severity and were hospitalised. One of them underwent surgery and remains under the doctors’ supervision. Eight others received medical examinations and were later released for outpatient treatment.
Earlier, Udmurtia’s head, Alexander Brechalov, confirmed that Ukrainian drones had targeted a facility in the region and called on residents not to succumb to provocations or spread unverified information.
Previous reports indicated that the attacked site may have been a plant involved in the production of Iskander and Oreshnik missile systems. Authorities are continuing to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
