Energy ties tighten as Azerbaijan, Germany advance gas partnership PHOTO
Within the framework of the Baku Energy Week, Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov held a meeting with Chairman of the German Eastern Business Association Michael Harms and representatives of leading German companies to review the current state and prospects of bilateral energy cooperation.
The discussions focused on the development of cooperation in natural gas production, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, energy storage systems, and electricity infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports via the Ministry of Energy.
The sides highly appreciated the start of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Germany, the growing role of Azerbaijan in Europe’s energy security, and the country’s commitment to energy transition. The minister informed the guests about renewable energy projects being implemented in Azerbaijan and the potential for exporting electricity to Europe.
