Erdogan reveals details of his recent meeting with Putin
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has revealed the details of the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on September 4.
“Today I met in Sochi with the President of Russia, my dear friend Putin, and discussed issues on our agenda. We want to further strengthen our multifaceted cooperation, in particular in the areas of trade, energy, agriculture, tourism, economics and finance," Erdogan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), Caliber.Az reports.
According to him, the volume of bilateral trade between Moscow and Ankara reached about $69 billion last year, and firm steps are being taken to take it to $100 billion.
He added that in addition to the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), the construction of which continues at an accelerated pace, the construction of the Sinop NPP was discussed during the meeting.
“One of the issues we focused on was the renewal of the Black Sea Initiative. In this context, in consultation with the United Nations, we have prepared a new package of proposals containing significant improvements. As Türkiye, we believe that we will soon reach a solution that lives up to expectations,” Erdogan wrote.
