"EU and US must recognise Azerbaijan's sovereignty over Garabagh to remain in settlement process" Farhad Mammadov's reasoning

Political scientist and head of the South Caucasus Research Centre Farhad Mammadov commented in his Telegram channel on the situation after the UN Security Council meeting convened on Armenia's initiative.

"There has been a lull in the last couple of days after the UNSC... The Azerbaijani leadership is holding a pause these days, and watching Armenia's patrons tie themselves into knots. I think this is the right term for those countries, politicians, and journalists whose Armenianophilia and Azerbaijanophobia have reached the apogee...

The wave of accusations based on the lies of the Armenian side leaves these politicians in a state where they themselves, repeating the same narratives, admit their failure.

The situation 'on the ground' does not change, even if you beat your head against the wall... by the way, not a bad idea for Armenian and French diplomacy.

The first country that started to accept the reality was Russia, which officially at the level of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said reluctantly about "the rights and security of Garabagh Armenians within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, etc.".

The US and the EU should be next... if they want to stay at least somehow in the process!

Do you know how difficult it is for them to do that?! Very difficult!

Pashinyan stated the obvious 'Garabagh and enclaves are Azerbaijan', but Washington and Brussels themselves do not back up this confirmation with deeds. You see, they have a precondition about 'the rights and obligations of Garabagh Armenians'. ... as if the Armenians of Garabagh gave them any authority to speak on their behalf!

Azerbaijan shows the correct and logical way of reintegration: disarmament, resource provision of the region, an extension of the legal field to Garabagh Armenians... and as a result, the choice is made: whoever wants to take citizenship remains, whoever does not want to, must leave the territory of Azerbaijan. The keywords here are "wants"-"does not want", i.e. there is a choice.

Until the first one - disarmament - happens, all arguments will be in vain... Armenians in Garabagh, in Armenia itself, in the Diaspora will not give up the idea of miatsum (a campaign of the Armenians that features separatism, 'status', and 'independence' efforts in Garabagh- Ed.) and if they are armed, they will not have support from outside. And the circles supporting them do not utter the idea of 'rights and security' within Azerbaijan and do not make statements about disarmament!!!

These forces realise that if they say this, the Armenians themselves will label them as 'traitors'. And an example of this ingratitude can be seen in the example of Russia. Thirty years of political, energy and military support, border protection, economic existence, and much more. And in the days of the 44-day war daily flights of planes with weapons and caravans of equipment to Armenia through the territory of Iran....

Armenia lost the war, and Russia is to blame for it...

The US and the EU will find themselves in the same role when they have to say that 'Garabagh and enclaves are Azerbaijan!!!'. Armenians will write them down as traitors and curse them forever and ever... the first such curses are already there and they will multiply... and the US and EU will have to say it as they have driven themselves into mediation and must already demonstrate their position to remain in this role.

And they could have done it at the very beginning, could have gone to Shusha, could have spoken clearly and without ambiguity... but no...

What are the authors of all statements of the last few weeks about the 'humanitarian disaster' in Garabagh going to do?! After all, they are representatives of the 'civilised world', and here it is like this?! They must either enter into a conflict with Azerbaijan or lose face... because their appeals are left in the air... I am sure that the second will happen and everyone will queue up on the road through Aghdam to help the Armenians of Garabagh...

But even in this case, Armenians will not say thanks...
