How Azerbaijan’s industrial zones are driving investment and exports Video report by Euronews
Euronews has broadcast a video report highlighting Azerbaijan's industrial zones, focusing on the projects implemented by Agency for Development of Economic Zones (ADEZ) to support the non-oil sector and diversify the country's economy.
In the Azerbaijan Diary episode, Emil Hajiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board at ADEZ (operating under the Ministry of Economy), explains how these zones are fostering investment, promoting economic diversification, and contributing to job creation, per Caliber.Az.
The industrial zones offer modern infrastructure, tax incentives, and a favorable investment climate, attracting both domestic and foreign investors. These efforts have resulted in a significant impact: the zones now account for 17% of non-oil production and 25% of non-oil exports.
Furthermore, the initiative is set to create 20,000 jobs, aiming to reduce Azerbaijan's reliance on imports while strengthening its global trade connections. Hajiyev also emphasized the integration of green energy solutions into these industrial zones, positioning them for sustainable growth and broader market access. Through these efforts, Azerbaijan is paving the way for a diversified and resilient economy.
