Euronews: Rising urban populations — how can WUF13 support cities? VIDEO
Preparations are underway for the 13th World Urban Forum, with a strong emphasis on international dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge sharing to address shared urban challenges, a report by Euronews outlines.
The forum is expected to bring together governments, experts, and city planners to discuss pressing issues such as housing shortages, climate resilience, and rapid urbanisation. Organisers and analysts highlight that strengthening global partnerships is increasingly seen as essential for managing these interconnected challenges.
The report stressed that national-level urban forums held ahead of the event have helped shape policy priorities and reinforce commitments at both political and local levels. Experts argue that no single country has a complete set of solutions, making international cooperation a central theme of the upcoming discussions.
"The forum will also highlight experience in smart city development, post-conflict reconstruction and innovation, contributing to broader discussions on sustainable urban growth," the report notes.
