Every day missed before signing peace treaty brings Armenia closer to more losses Article by Azerbaijan's Security Council Secretary

10 October 2023 12:48

Every missed day before signing the peace treaty brings Armenia closer to even greater losses, Colonel General Ramil Usubov, Secretary of the Security Council of Azerbaijan, says in his article published in the official press.

Usubov noted that the greatest damage from the "Nagorno-Karabakh conflict", which has faded into history, has been suffered and is still being borne by the Armenian people, and the Republic of Armenia as a whole, Report informs.

According to him, the leaders of Armenia condemned the country to great hardship and deep crisis: "Political chaos, economic and social decline, corrupt state apparatus, toppled army and shameful defeat, finally, civil conflict, mass migration abroad and other similar factors, reflecting the tragedies of the Armenian people, testify that Armenia is already on the verge of irrevocable final collapse. The calls of the Armenian public to open a new page in the country's history inspire hope that Armenia will still strive for signing a peace treaty as soon as possible," the article reads.

Usubov emphasised that every missed day before signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan brings Armenia closer to even more losses.

"Completion of the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders, signing a peace treaty is now necessary to a greater extent for Armenia. Azerbaijan has fully ensured its territorial integrity, and our borders are under full control," the article says.

According to him, successful operations conducted by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, such as "Revenge" and "Decisive Response", as well as the opening of a border crossing point in the Lachin district on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border clearly demonstrated the power of the "iron fist".

"At the same time, local anti-terrorist measures led to the complete collapse of the separatist regime and the final elimination of the 'grey zone'," the article says.

Usubov stressed that the flag of Azerbaijan now flies on the entire territory of the Garabagh region. The process of demining and disarmament of the former "grey zone" is successfully continuing, he noted.

"Adventurers brought to criminal responsibility are testifying in Baku prisons. Armenian residents have ceased to be hostages of the separatist regime and adherents of the ideology of nationalism and finally got an opportunity to live in peace, without fear, in prosperity. The Azerbaijani state gave them a historic opportunity to obtain citizenship and start the process of reintegration into Azerbaijani society," the article says.
