Nepal congratulates Azerbaijan on progress in normalising relations with Armenia
On August 19, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke with his Nepali counterpart, Arzu Rana Deuba, to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
During the call, Deuba congratulated Baku on agreements reached with the United States during President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to Washington, as well as on progress in the normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Caliber.Az reports citing the foreign ministry.
Both ministers noted the consistent political contacts between Azerbaijan and Nepal, recalling with satisfaction the visit of the Nepali President to Azerbaijan as part of COP29.
The year also marks 30 years since diplomatic relations were established between the two countries.
The significance of Azerbaijan’s governmental mission in Nepal and ongoing political consultations between the foreign ministries was highlighted.
The conversation covered the development of bilateral and multilateral relations, with particular attention to trade, tourism, humanitarian efforts, and other areas of cooperation.
Both ministers praised collaboration within international organisations, including the Non-Aligned Movement, and stressed the importance of strengthening mutual support in multilateral forums.
