Ex-commander of Karabakh separatists stands for Baku-Khankendi direct dialogue
According to the former "secretary of the Security Council" of the separatists Samvel Babayan, first of all, a direct dialogue should be initiated between Khankendi and Baku, and "trust should be established and an agreement should be reached on different issues so that people could live peacefully and normally".
He made this statement in his interview with Hrayr Tamrazyan in Azatutyun's "Sunday Analytica with Hrayr Tamrazyan" programme, Caliber.Az reports.
"After that, we will move on to the second stage: discussing the remaining problems that we have," Babayan said.
"If we don't go that way and there is no mutual trust, we won't achieve anything. I, as the second 'political force', am not against immediate negotiations, but first of all, we need to form a certain document on the points on which we will have a dialogue in order to inspire mutual trust in each other and then move on to the other issues," Babayan stressed.
