Final day of Baku Water Week spotlights global water collaboration

12 September 2025 12:11

The concluding day of the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference for Water Management has commenced in Azerbaijan’s capital, with participants and visitors maintaining a high level of engagement despite the event drawing to a close.

The programme on September 12 features the Caspian Water Innovation Forum, organised with the support of Azerbaijan's State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA), Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The forum brings together representatives from government bodies, including the ASWRA, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the Ministry of Economy, alongside international companies from more than ten countries and leading national academic and research institutions.

Over the three days of Baku Water Week, attendees have been able to view models of the Zabukhchay reservoir — the first reservoir in free Karabakh — and the Shirber waterwheel in the foyer of the Baku Expo Centre.

Pavilion No. 1 has also showcased artworks by members of the inclusive creative association Ümid var, under the exhibition title “Baku Water Week 2025 through the Eyes of Special Artists”.

In total, more than 60 companies and delegations have participated in the event, representing not only Azerbaijan but also Germany, the United States, Austria, Belarus, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Israel, Switzerland, India, Hungary, Türkiye, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

Baku Water Week serves as a unique meeting place for producers, government agencies, and foreign investors, offering extensive opportunities for cooperation and long-term partnerships. The event aims to attract new technologies and investments to Azerbaijan, contributing to the ongoing development of the regional water industry. It also provides a platform to discuss key issues, explore new projects, and strengthen collaboration in the sector.

The Week features a range of sections, including construction and drilling equipment; water purification, supply, and treatment; design and construction of water industry facilities; ICT in water resource management; water desalination technologies; disaster management technologies; laboratory equipment; and systems for wastewater and stormwater discharge and treatment.
