Flight from Berlin to Milan diverted after turbulence leaves passengers injured
A Ryanair passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Memmingen Airport in Bavaria’s Unterallgäu district following intense turbulence that left multiple people injured.
The flight, en route from Berlin to Milan, encountered severe weather conditions that led to injuries among nine of the 185 people on board — eight passengers and one crew member, Caliber.Az reports via German media.
Three individuals required hospital care. A two-year-old child sustained bruising, a woman suffered a head injury, and another passenger reported back pain. Despite the rough conditions, the aircraft landed safely at Memmingen on the evening of June 4.
The flight was carrying 179 passengers and six crew members. Authorities in Southern Bavaria did not permit the aircraft to continue its journey, prompting Ryanair to arrange bus transportation to Milan for the stranded passengers.
