From energy to AI: Baku and Washington reset economic agenda PHOTO
Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov said Azerbaijan and the United States have discussed expanding economic cooperation across key strategic sectors, including energy, trade, industry, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, critical minerals and mining.
Speaking after a meeting with Caleb Orr, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr, held within the framework of Baku Energy Week, Jabbarov said the sides reviewed strategic priorities for the development of bilateral economic partnership and explored prospects for joint initiatives.

The discussions covered cooperation in energy and industrial development, as well as emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and digitalisation, alongside opportunities in critical minerals and mining, according to the minister.
Jabbarov also underlined the importance of strengthening regional connectivity to support economic growth, highlighting Azerbaijan’s role as a strategic platform linking Europe, Central Asia, the South Caucasus and the Middle East.
