Funding branch of World Bank may invest in Azerbaijan's private energy sector

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, may invest in the private energy sector of Azerbaijan.

This statement was made in the course of a meeting between Samir Akhundov, the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) with a delegation headed by the IFC Azerbaijan Country Manager, Aliya Azimova, Report informs.

AERA and IFC are said to have discussed issues of public-private partnership within renewable energy sources, involvement of the private sector in the renewable energy sphere, electricity exports and tariffs.
