Gazprom, SOCAR discuss gas supplies
Russia’s Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) President Rovshan have discussed issues of gas supplies.
The talks took place during a working meeting at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023, Report informs referring to Gazprom.
The parties discussed topical issues of interaction between the companies and also considered opportunities for expanding scientific and technical cooperation in the field of gas transportation.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023, which began its work on June 14, will end on June 17.
SOCAR is the largest oil and gas company in Azerbaijan, with its core businesses comprising exploration, production, refining, transport and sales of oil, natural gas and gas condensate.
Gazprom started gas supplies to Azerbaijan on November 15, 2022, under the new contract with SOCAR and supplied up to 1 billion cubic metres of gas by March 2023 under it.
In 2021, Azerbaijan and Russia agreed to cooperate in seasonal gas swaps, from Azerbaijan to Russia in summer and from Russia to Azerbaijan in winter.
