Georgia, Azerbaijan boost trade with high-speed Poti–Baku express PHOTO
On January 30, Poti Port of Georgia witnessed the official launch of the Poti–Baku express block train, a new initiative aimed at enhancing freight transport between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials from both Azerbaijan Railways (AYD) CJSC and Georgian Railway JSC, Caliber.Az reports, citing the AYD.
The event emphasized the strategic significance of the new express train, highlighting its potential to save time and reduce costs for cargo owners by minimizing the storage of goods and empty containers at terminals.
Operating along the Poti–Baku route, the block train will link Georgian Black Sea ports with key ports and terminals in Azerbaijan. It is designed as a streamlined logistics solution, allowing cargo owners to transport containers efficiently between Poti and Baku, with reduced delays in both directions.
