Georgia begins talks on launching direct flights to Kyrgyzstan
Georgian authorities have launched negotiations on establishing direct air links with Kyrgyzstan, a move aimed at strengthening economic and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The announcement was made by Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili following a visit by a Georgian government delegation to Bishkek, according to Georgian media reports.
Kvrivishvili said that the introduction of direct flights was among the key topics discussed during meetings with Kyrgyz officials, emphasising the potential benefits for bilateral trade, investment, and tourism.
“We have already begun negotiations on this issue and hope that this visit will serve as an additional incentive for direct flights between the capitals to begin in the near future,” Kvrivishvili noted.
The proposed air connection would link the capitals of Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, facilitating travel and enhancing people-to-people and business ties between the two countries.
