Georgia deports over 850 foreigners since early 2025
19 October 2025 14:52
From January 1 to September 30, 2025, Georgian authorities expelled 851 foreign nationals from the country, according to materials published on the country's Interior Ministry website.
The largest number of deported individuals were citizens of India (166 people), followed by Iran (128) and Türkiye (88), Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Among Georgia’s neighbouring countries, 55 Russian citizens, 27 Azerbaijani citizens, and 23 Armenian citizens were deported during the reporting period.
The Interior Ministry clarified that the main reason for deportation was overstaying the legal period of residence, which for most foreigners is limited to 365 days.
