Russia buys $700 million of Georgian goods as exports rise in 2025
Georgia’s exports of domestically produced goods rose sharply in 2025, according to local media reports.
Locally made products accounted for 46.2% of the country’s total exports last year, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Overall, Georgia exported goods worth $3.37 billion, an increase of 12.5% compared with the previous year.
Russia was the largest buyer of Georgian products, importing goods worth $700.7 million. It was followed by China, which purchased $301.9 million, and Türkiye, with imports totalling $298.8 million.
Russia is one of Georgia’s largest individual export markets. Key Georgian exports to Russia include mineral water, spirits, agricultural produce and food products. Russia has accounted for a substantial share of total Georgian exports.
Georgia also imports goods from Russia, including wheat, petroleum products and natural gas. As a result, Russia has remained among Georgia’s top trading partners by turnover, despite the lack of diplomatic relations between the two countries since the 2008 conflict.
