ASTRA: Ukrainian missiles strike Michurinskaya CHP in Belgorod PHOTO / VIDEO
Ukrainian forces launched a missile strike on the Michurinskaya combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Belgorod overnight on January 20, damaging facilities within the region’s energy complex, local authorities have reported.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Belgorod Oblast, confirmed that the attack targeted the gas-turbine Michurinskaya CHP, part of the GT Energo company, resulting in damage to buildings and equipment on the site, Caliber.Az reports per ASTRA.

“Following last night’s shelling, demining teams will complete inspections of the areas struck by enemy missiles during daylight hours, after which full-scale restoration work will begin. The situation remains tense,” Gladkov said.
The Michurinskaya CHP primarily supplies electricity and heat to the production sites and administrative buildings of the Belenergomash–BZEM plant. The station has an electrical capacity of 24.2 megawatts and a thermal output of 80 gigacalories per hour.
According to local outlet Pepel, while the plant is smaller than other recently targeted facilities—such as the Luch CHP and Belgorod CHP—it remains a key component in ensuring the energy security of the region’s industrial enterprises.
