Georgia pledges swift resolution to Azerbaijani trucks held at border checkpoints
26 November 2025 20:16
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia says a resolution is expected soon to the backlog of Azerbaijani freight trucks that have been held at customs checkpoints in Batumi and Tbilisi for more than 20 days.
Embassy officials met on November 26 with representatives of several Georgian government agencies to discuss the prolonged delays. According to the diplomatic mission, Georgian authorities assured them that the issue would be addressed in the near future, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The detained vehicles, which were transporting tobacco products, were stopped at the Georgian border earlier this month without an official explanation.
