Georgia’s parliamentary speaker: Ukraine in difficult position
Georgia’s parliamentary speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, has said that Ukraine is in an increasingly difficult position as the conflict with Russia reaches what he described as an “impasse”.
“Today, Ukraine finds itself in a difficult situation. The Ukrainian authorities can neither continue the war nor bring it to an end," Caliber.Az quotes Papuashvili as saying.
"This is the biggest challenge, as all the twists and turns and the war itself have reached a deadlock. Continuing the war is burdensome, and ending it is equally difficult.”
He also referred to comments made on November 21 by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who acknowledged that the country is facing a hard choice.
According to media reports, an American delegation led by US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll presented a new Washington proposal to Zelenskyy during a meeting in Kyiv on November 20.
The Financial Times reported that the peace plan — a 28-point document approved by President Trump — includes significant concessions expected from Kyiv.
On November 21, the US administration asked Ukraine to sign the plan by November 27, warning that military supplies and intelligence sharing could be suspended if Kyiv refuses.
