Georgian pundit calls for joint actions to bring about sustainable peace to region
“For sustainable peace in the region, the countries of the South Caucasus must act together.”
The head of the Center for Strategic Planning of Georgia, political pundit Levan Mamaladze told Report while commenting on the visit of the Georgian defence minister to Azerbaijan.
“The visit of Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze to Azerbaijan is another indicator of our country’s peaceful policy in the Caucasus. The minister's meeting with President Ilham Aliyev is also a striking example of the steps being taken towards peace. Some time ago, a similar meeting took place in Armenia. Armenia needs assistance in signing a peace treaty. Georgia is making great efforts in this direction,” the political pundit emphasized.
Levan Mamaladze expressed hope that trilateral meetings will begin soon and a peace treaty will be signed.
