Georgian speaker: Imposing sanctions against Russia means shooting oneself in the foot
Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili has said that imposing sanctions against Russia means shooting yourself in your own foot, everyone knows this - Georgian citizens and foreign partners.
"If today any representative of Russia says that the sun rises from the east, do we have to say that it is not true? Should we oppose this? The fact that the imposition of sanctions is a shot in its own foot is a truth that everyone - Georgian citizens, foreign partners - know about," Papuashvili said, Caliber.Az reports with reference to Georgian media.
He once again emphasized that Tbilisi proceeds from its own interests, answering the question of why the current government is increasingly being praised by Russian representatives.
According to him, the main thing is the fact "that we are praised by the citizens of Georgia and we feel this praise and support from them".
