Hungary highlights Azerbaijan’s crucial role in securing Europe's energy future
Hungary regards Azerbaijan as a strategic partner at the crossroads of Central Asia and Europe, with the country playing a crucial role in the energy security of not only Central Europe but the entire continent.
In a statement at an event titled "Innovative Pathways to a Greener Future: Renewable Energy Sources and Emission Reduction," Hungary’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Tamás Torma, highlighted Azerbaijan’s importance in this regard, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“Azerbaijan is pivotal to energy security, not just for Central Europe, but for the whole continent. Our cooperation with Azerbaijan extends beyond oil and natural gas to include the largest project aimed at creating a 'green' energy corridor across the Black Sea, in collaboration with Georgia, Romania, and Bulgaria. This project will enable the supply of electricity from renewable sources and enhance the competitiveness of both Central Europe and the wider region,” Torma remarked.
The ambassador also emphasised the strategic nature of the relationship between Hungary and Azerbaijan, which spans nearly all sectors.
“As noted during recent consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one of our key tasks remains identifying tangible areas for expanding cooperation. The goal of today’s conference is to explore prospects for international collaboration in green energy and to assess potential development scenarios,” Torma added.
