Indian Oil urges citizens not to panic over LPG supply concerns VIDEO
Indian Oil Corporation (or Indian Oil) has urged Indian citizens to order LPG refills only when necessary and avoid panic-buying.
The company, sharing a post on X, says even a small step to stabilise the situation can make a big difference, Caliber.Az reports.
“Your LPG supply remains secure and uninterrupted. Indian Oil continues to ensure steady LPG availability for households across the country,” the company adds.

Indian Oil states that some customers booking refills earlier than usual can temporarily increase demand and affect delivery timelines.
“Please book your LPG refill only when required and avoid panic bookings. Our teams and distributors remain committed to ensuring cylinders reach homes across India," the post reads.
The appeal comes as India grapples with supply-chain pressures triggered by the ongoing U.S.–Israeli military operation against Iran, which began on 28 February 2026. In retaliation, Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz — the world’s most critical energy chokepoint — leading to a sharp disruption in maritime traffic.
India relies heavily on imported LPG, making its domestic supply chain particularly vulnerable to external shocks. Recent reports indicate a sharp drop in LPG consumption due to delayed shipments and logistical bottlenecks.
The situation has triggered widespread panic buying, with a surge in refill bookings overwhelming distribution systems in several regions. Authorities have acknowledged that such behaviour, rather than an actual shortage, has been a key factor behind delivery delays.
