Influential banking organization may join restoration of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region
Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Asaf Hajiyev has said that the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) may be involved in the restoration of the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the Armenian occupation.
“It is possible to invest, develop, support people and at the same time earn,” Hajiyev said while answering Report news agency’s question at the 24th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) in Azerbaijan’s Baku city.
“Along with investments in business, it is possible to restore houses through the BSTDB’s support in the Karabakh region. This is a humanitarian mission. It would be expedient for the bank to do this work. We are people and we should understand that people's lives and their destinies are more important. The fate of one million internally displaced people (IDPs) cannot be neglected,” he said.
