International Finance Corporation keen to support development of Azerbaijan's railway infrastructure
Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) has held discussions with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) regarding potential collaboration to expand the country's railway fleet and explore new financing methods.
The meeting included ADY Deputy Chairman Arif Aghayev, IFC Regional Manager for Infrastructure and Energy in Europe, Latin America, Camila Rodriguez, along with other officials, Caliber.Az reports.
During the discussions, the parties explored possibilities for partnership in the development of major railway infrastructure projects, with a focus on IFC's support for the implementation of such initiatives.
Aghayev highlighted the significant progress made by ADY in recent years to expand and modernize its fleet, which includes the acquisition of new electric trains and locomotives, as well as the successful execution of projects financed through internal resources.
