Iran calls Jeffrey Epstein case “civilizational catastrophe”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei described the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein as a “civilizational catastrophe” during a briefing.
Baghaei, in response to a question about the recently leaked documents that have attracted global attention and implicated many political and economic figures in Western countries, said that the Epstein case can also be viewed as a crime against humanity, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
“This is a human and civilizational catastrophe and cannot be underestimated or portrayed as an issue concerning only the United States or a single individual. These crimes have deeply hurt human emotions worldwide and, in a sense, should be considered crimes against humanity,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry representative stressed.
Baghaei emphasised that the issue demands careful attention and analysis of its security and political implications for the region in the future.
