Iran's military warns of “decisive” response to any US threats
Iran’s armed forces say they are ready to respond “decisively” to any US threats, amid heightened tensions with Washington.
Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, said on April 21 that the country’s military was “united and coordinated” and prepared to deliver “decisive, determining and immediate responses” to what he described as enemy actions, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
He also said the United States and Israel had been forced to seek a ceasefire following sustained Iranian missile and drone strikes, according to comments carried by Iranian state-linked outlets.
On April 20, US President Donald Trump again threatened Iran with overwhelming military force, warning that “lots of bombs [will] start going off” if no deal is reached before the ceasefire with Tehran expires on Tuesday evening.
The comments, made during a call with a PBS News reporter, came amid growing uncertainty over US–Iran talks and a fragile ceasefire.
