Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei: “Tehran will demand reparations” Address to the nation
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has stated that Tehran will demand reparations from the United States and Israel for damage inflicted on the country.
The statement was made in an address marking 40 days since the death of the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, according to Fars.
“Everyone must know: we will not leave the criminal aggressors who attacked our country in peace. We will definitely demand reparations for every damage inflicted and for the price of the blood of the martyrs and the wounded in this war,” the statement said.
Khamenei stressed the seriousness of Iran’s position and the need to hold those responsible accountable, underlining the importance of restoring justice for every victim and every act of destruction.
He also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran “won the war in the Persian Gulf region,” despite the destruction caused by enemy strikes and bombardments.
“Despite the damage and blows inflicted by the enemy, our armed forces turned the war into a great victory,” the statement reads, issued on the 40th day after the death of the previous Supreme Leader — Mojtaba Khamenei’s father, Ali Khamenei.
The document also called on the population to “continue taking to the streets of Iranian cities in mass rallies and demonstrations, as they have done over the past 40 days.”
Other key statements included:
- March 2026 marked the beginning of a new era of strengthening and elevation of the Islamic Republic of Iran;
- Iran’s southern neighbours are told they are witnessing a “miracle” and should understand it correctly and not trust “false promises of evil forces”;
- Iran is moving into a new phase of managing the Strait of Hormuz;
- Iran does not seek war, but will not give up its rights.
